Legislation in force: National Appliance Energy Conservation Act of 1987 (NAECA), enacted March 17, 1987, is a United States Act of Congress that regulates energy consumption of specific household appliances. The Energy Policy Act of 1992 is an Act to provide for improved energy efficiency, mandatory since 24 October 1992. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 amends the Energy Policy Act of 1992 and was enacted 8 August 2005. 10 CFR Part 429 sets forth the procedures to be followed for certification, determination and enforcement of compliance of covered products and covered equipment with the applicable conservation standards set forth in parts 430 and 431 of this subchapter.
