Scope of legislation

The scope of this Essential is for machinery used at workplaces. Due to there is no regulation for machinery equipment in a consumer related field, use the SGP CGSR Essentials for Singapore. The scope of the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act is to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of people at work in workplaces. It applies to all workplaces and work activities in Singapore, including those in the construction, marine, and process sectors. The Act establishes the regulatory framework for the administration and enforcement of workplace safety and health laws, regulations, and standards in Singapore. This includes the establishment of the Workplace Safety and Health Council, the appointment of a Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health, and the creation of a system of inspection, investigation, and enforcement.'
