Legislation in force: Qatar Labor Law (Law no.14 of 2004) Article (2) - This Law shall apply to the employers and workers, and prescribe their rights and obligations and regulates the relationship between them. Article (100) -The employer shall take all precautionary measures for protecting the workers during the work from any injury or disease that may result from the work performed in his establishment or from any accident, defect or breakdown in the machinery and equipment therein or from fire. Customs Law (Law No.40 of 2002) Importation of Goods is regulated in Chapter 5-1 Examination/Inspection of Goods is regulated in Chapter 6-2 Resolution No. 28 of 2011 by the Minister of Environment on the Endorsement of Certain Gulf Technical Regulations and Standard Specifications of the Qatari Technical Regulations and Standard Specifications. Attached Tables 1 - 28 show the lists of adopted standards. The Gulf Technical Regulations and Standard Specifications, whose numbers and titles are indicated in Tables (1-28) annexed hereto, shall endorse the Qatari Technical Regulations and Standard Specifications according to the information indicated in respect of each of them. The Council of Ministers Resolution No. 4 of 1990 Concerning the Specifications and Measures System Article 7: It shall be prohibited to import goods, substances, raw materials, products, machines and equipment or otherwise producing, exporting, selling or offering for sale, trading against consideration or possessing with the intention of selling, if such goods, substances, raw materials, products, machines and equipment are not compatible with the established standardized specifications according to the provisions of this law, or otherwise carrying statements that contravene the actual standardized specifications even if such specifications are available; Ministries, government bodies and public authorities and corporations shall adhere to the approved standardized specifications according to the provisions of this law in all their transactions, documents and purchases.
