INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY
For industrial machinery the legal requirements set out by the following operator legislations:
- OCCUPATIONAL, SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT 1994 (Act 514),
- FACTORY AND MACHINERY ACT 1967 (Act 139) and
- PETROLEUM (SAFETY MEASURES) ACT 1984 (Act 302)
- and their relevant regulations.
Globalnorm did not identify import restrictions for industrial machinery in Customs (Prohibition of Imports) Orders.
Note: FACTORIES AND MACHINERY (REPEAL) ACT 2022 is not yet in force !

CONSUMER MACHINERY

The requirements to perform safety test for machinery may result out of the Acts:
- ELECTRICITY SUPPLY (AMENDMENT) ACT 2015 [Act A1501] or
- COMMUNICATIONS AND MULTIMEDIA ACT 1998 [Act 588]
and their connected regulations:
- ELECTRICITY REGULATIONS 994
- COMMUNICATIONS AND MULTIMEDIA (TECHNICAL STANDARDS) REGULATIONS 2000
or regulated or restricted products
- CUSTOMS (PROHIBITION OF IMPORTS) ORDERS (see 2.3)
Several mandatory standards for household appliances, hand-held machinery and multimedia equipment are defined.
Certain products are defined as to be deemed to comply with standards before importation.
