Scope of legislation
This ESSENTIAL describes the legal obligations for manufacturers and the regulatory requirements for the restriction of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment as specified in the technical regulation.

Annex I
The scope of the regulation covers electrical and electronic equipment which fall into the categories specified in:

1. Electrical apparatus and appliances for domestic use
- For the preparation and storage of food and for the mechanization of kitchen work and other kitchen appliances
- For processing (washing, ironing, drying, cleaning) laundry, clothing and footwear
- For the cleaning of premises
- To maintain and adapt the indoor climate
