Chapter 12.3: Electrical devices and installations (Instalações e dispositivos elétricos)
12.3.1 The electrical command and power circuits of machinery and equipment must be designed and maintained in such a way as to prevent, by safe means, the dangers of electric shock, fire, explosion and other types of accidents, as provided for in official technical standards and, in the absence of of these, in the applicable international standards.
12.3.2 The housings, casings, shields or conductive parts of machines and equipment that are not part of electrical circuits, but that may be under voltage, must be grounded, in accordance with the official technical standards in force.
12.3.3 The electrical control and power circuits of machines and equipment that are or may be in direct or indirect contact with water or corrosive agents must be designed with means and devices that guarantee their shielding, tightness, isolation and grounding, in order to prevent the occurrence of accidents.
12.3.4 The electrical supply conductors of machines and equipment must meet the following minimum safety requirements:
a) offer mechanical resistance compatible with its use;
b) have protection against the possibility of mechanical breakage, abrasive contacts and contact with lubricants, fuels and heat;
c) location so that no segment is in contact with moving parts or sharp corners;
d) do not hinder the movement of people and materials or the operation of machines;
e) not pose any other types of risks in its location; It is
f) be made of materials that do not spread fire.
