This ESSENTIAL describes the regulatory requirements for devices related to Electrical Safety (Consumer Products) based on the Consumer Protection Act and the respective INMETRO Portarias/Ordinances.

The National Policy for Consumer Relations aims to meet the needs of consumers, respect for their dignity, health and safety, protect their economic interests, improve their quality of life, as well as transparency and harmony of consumer relations.
Article 8
The products and services placed on the consumer market will not entail risks to the health or safety of consumers, except those considered normal and predictable due to their nature and enjoyment, and suppliers are obliged, in any event, to give necessary and appropriate information about it.
