RoHS
A RoHS legislation (*) does not exist in Australia.
(*) EU-RoHS legislation means the restriction of the use of Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent chromium, Polybrominated biphenyls and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in certain electrical/electronic products (DIRECTIVE 2011/65/EU).
The Recycling and Waste Reduction Act 2020 came into effect on 16 December 2020.
The main object of this Act is to reduce the impact on human and environmental health of products, waste from products and waste material.
The Recycling and Waste Reduction (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Bill 2020 repealed the Product Stewardship Act 2011 and came into force 2020-12-15.
The Recycling and Waste Reduction (Product Stewardship—Accreditation of Voluntary Arrangements) Rules 2020 provide matters relating to the accreditation of voluntary arrangements in relation to a product. The rules came into effect 2020-12-17.
