Legislation in force: In Australia, it was not possible to identify any legal requirements for optical radiation that must be complied with when placing products on the Australian market. In individual cases, the authorities responsible for product safety in Australia should be contacted. An independent approval or certification procedure for the Product Compliance Topic "LASER" (optical radiation) could not be determined. Laser radiation is regulated by Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 in Chapter 223 “Lasers”. In addition, the regulations of the independent Australian government body Safe Work Australia apply to occupational health and safety. In short: (1) Risk management, (2) prevention of accidental irradiation, (3) protection of exposure to direct radiation, (4) safe observation and adjustment of laser, (5) proper trainings, (6) Class 3B and Class 4 lasers shall not be used in construction work.
