This Technical Regulation sets out the essential requirements on the electromagnetic compatibility with a view to requiring equipment to comply with an adequate level of electromagnetic compatibility. These requirements shall be respected by the equipment included in the scope of this GSO Technical Regulation before they are put or made available in the GSO market. This TR was notified to WTO on 27th March 2018 for comments. The project is under approval and it is available in Arabic only. CONTENT of CDT-180025 (details only) Article (1) - Definitions Article (2) - Scope of Application (1. This regulation applies to electrical equipment, in accordance with the definitions and terms related to it and mentioned in Article (1) Note: Wherever the phrase “electrical equipment” appears, it includes fixed electrical devices and installations. Article (3) - Objectives: This regulation aims to define the basic electromagnetic compatibility requirements for electrical devices, equipment, and fixed installations that must be met before such devices, equipment, and fixed installations can be placed on the market and thus freely move within the markets of the Member States. Article (4) - Placement on the Market and/or Placement in Service Member States shall take all necessary measures to ensure that electrical equipment will be placed on the market and/or placed in service only when it meets the requirements of this regulation, and when it is installed, maintained, and used correctly and in accordance with the purposes for which it was manufactured.

Before 2024, there was no legislation regarding electromagnetic compatibility in Saudi Arabia.
The new Technical Regulation (legally binding) will come into force on 14-MAY-2024, transition period: 1 year.
This ESSENTIAL is based on the Saudi Arabian SASO "Technical regulations for electromagnetic compatibility", published 28-SEP-2023.'

This technical regulation applies to electrical equipment, in accordance with the relevant definitions and terms contained in Article (1) and the standard specifications contained in Appendix (1).
Note: Where the term “electrical equipment” is used, it includes electrical appliances and fixed installations.

(TR) Art.1 - Terms and Definitions
- Electrical Equipment: means fixed devices or installations
- Apparatus: Any completed device or device, or combination thereof, intended for use and offered on the market as a single unit, that causes electromagnetic interference, or whose performance can be affected by such interference. It includes the following subcomponents and moving assemblies
- Subcomponents or assemblies that the end user assembles within the device, which can cause electromagnetic interference, or the performance of the device can be affected by electromagnetic interference due to these components
- Mobile installations: that include a group of devices that can be moved to operate in a number of different locations
- Fixed installation: It is a specific group of different devices and tools that are permanently assembled and installed in a pre-determined location, so that they are able to work and be used in the same location'
